Private Evening Tour

Want to learn some local history?

Looking for a unique way to spend an evening?

Come along to Cork City Gaol’s Evening Tour; mingle with the ghosts of inmates past, listen for the shuffle of the inmates’ feet or the jingle of the warders’ keys.

Visitors get a fascinating insight into day-to-day prison life during a time when the high walls ensured no escape and denied law-abiding citizens the opportunity to see one of the finest examples of Ireland’s architectural heritage.

How do I book my Evening Tour?

You can book your tour by calling us on 021 4305022 (our opening hours are at the top right of this page). Evening Tours must be booked at least 1 week in advance.

When can I book my tour for?

You can book your tour for any week day (Monday to Friday) at 17.45; the tour takes approximately 1 hour.

Is there a minimum number of people required?

Yes, the minimum requirement for the tour is 10 people. The evening tour is a PRIVATE Guided Tour of the Gaol, so just your group will have access at that time.

We don’t have enough people to book our own tour, can we join another group?

Unfortunately this is not possible, all our evening tours are Private.

How much does it cost?

The cost is €12 per person and this must be paid in advance of your tour.
